The Important Things
It’s Sunday morning and I’m sitting here thinking about the days upcoming activities and realizing how often we miss what is truly important. Very often in our busyness of doing church things we miss what it is really all about. It is about a person named Jesus who is very real and very close. It’s not about “church”, denominations, a list of do’s and don’ts. It’s not even about if we as individuals are right or wrong or if we have it all figured out. It’s about a real person that loves us and wants us to be close to us. He wants us to sit at His feet and love Him. Quite honestly there is no amount of wrong that we could do that would ever change that. On the same note, there is no amount of right that we could ever do that could ever change that. Jesus is very real. It’s not a religion. It’s not a philosophy. It’s not a way of life. It’s much more than that. It’s a simple walk in the cool of the morning. If we could ever grasp what it is all about then it would change our lives.
My wife loves me. I’m not perfect by any means. I’m not the best looking man in the world. I’m not the best father. I’m not the best husband. And yet, I have captivated my wife’s heart. She looks at no one else. There is no one else she would rather spend time with. I am the “apple of her eye”. If we could grasp the concept that that is the same way that Jesus sees us it would change our very being and how we live life.
Song 4:9 You have ravished my heart, My sister, my spouse; You have ravished my heart With one look of your eyes, With one link of your necklace.
God Bless,
