Fulfilling Your Purpose
I believe that one of the biggest misunderstandings in the church today is that many believe that God “anoints” specific individuals. God does anoint individuals, but He anoints them for a purpose. David was anointed to be king as an example.
Hannah, the mother of Samuel, was barren as many are in the church today. In her prayer to the Lord she asked:
1 Sam 2:1 And Hannah prayed and said: “My heart rejoices in the LORD; My horn is exalted in the LORD. I smile at my enemies, Because I rejoice in Your salvation.
“Horn” is symbolic of your purpose or your office. Your specific place in the Body of Christ. All too many people are seeking after people, positions, jobs, money, as well as many other things, but are not seeking for the purpose they were created for, and are “barren”. The doors seem to always remain shut for them. Everything you hoped for is wrapped up in your purpose and destiny.
Part of the answer is to seek your purpose instead of people or jobs. Sadly, most people don’t have a clue what their purpose or gifting is. Even worse, some do know, but ignore it. You were not created to sit on your front porch and watch the cars rust. You were created for a purpose. You were not a surprise to God. He had a plan for you even before you were born.
Jer 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Until you ignore the way of the world and start seeking your purpose there will be a big void in your life. You will always wonder what you are here for. Seek your purpose and your destiny and quit seeking the approval of men.
God Bless,
Dave
